Using the right produce 'essential' for a BBQ

Home cooks thinking of heading outside and enjoying the good weather need to make the right choices with their BBQ recipes, a celebrity chef has said.

Anthony Worrall Thompson highlighted that it is not always meat that needs to be cooked on the BBQ, as so many other foods also work well.

He suggested that vegetarians should not be ignored, with mushrooms, onions and peppers especially tasted when chargrilled.

Furthermore, he recommended the use of local, in season produce, as this will be especially fresh and tasty when cooked in this way.

Lastly, Anthony Worrall Thompson argued that BBQs do not have to be all about red meat, as some seafood is cooked just as easily.

Lucy Halsall, editor of Grow Your Own Magazine, recently advised people to consider growing fruit and vegetables, as this will make them more inclined to eat healthily.
