Brits 'not averse' to trying new foods
Trying out new foods and recipes while overseas is becoming more common for British holidaymakers, it has emerged.
Christine Webber, a psychotherapist speaking on behalf of Kuoni, explained that is was not too long ago that people were reluctant to try out new cuisine.
"The stories are legion with people packing up cars with cornflakes and Marmite and everything else," she explained, although this is largely no longer the case.
"Around about a fifth of all people are saying they only eat local foods," Ms Webber noted, while the majority of overseas travellers have at least sampled the cuisine that their destination has to offer.
A recent Kuoni poll found that 75 per cent of people do things that are out of character for them while they are on holiday, with 34 per cent believing this is because they do not feel as self-conscious.
