Pancake tower world record broken

A group from Food Network UK put their frying pans to good use last week as they broke the world record for the highest tower of pancakes.

To mark Shrove Tuesday, the team created 725 pancakes that were then stacked in an attempt to make history.

A total of 253 eggs, 26 pints of milk, 11 pounds of flour went into creating the recipe, which took the team 13 hours to complete.

"We wanted to celebrate this year's Pancake Day with something a little different and what better way than to create a giant stack of pancakes!" Nick Thorogood, managing director of the entertainment channel, exclaimed.

Last week, the soon-to-be wife of Prince William, Kate Middleton, showed off her pancake tossing skills on a trip to the centre of Belfast.

The couple appeared at a fundraising event for a cancer charity as part of their visit to Northern Ireland.
