Celebrity chef James Martin will be opening a brand new restaurant in the Clarence Dock area of Leeds.

Located on the ground floor of the Alea Casino, the eating outlet will be named The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin, which will be strictly open to over-18s.

The chef commented: "It's a stunning venue and has everything under one roof. What better way to put the icing on the cake by launching my new venture there."

He promised that his latest venture would offer some of the best British cooking that has ever been tasted.

Work is expected to start on the project in the coming weeks, when the restaurant will replace The Fig, which is currently occupying the space.

James Martin is the host of popular TV show Saturday Kitchen, which sees celebrities and members of the public being shown how to make popular dishes by some of the country's top chefs.
