France welcomes first anti-cancer cookery school
A cookery school with a difference has opened its doors in France, giving pupils the chance to learn recipes renowned for their cancer-preventing properties.
Conner Middelmann-Whitney has selected ingredients that are associated with healthy eating, the Daily Telegraph reports, while avoiding those that could encourage cancerous growths.
"Cancer cells love sugar. Glucose can act as a growth factor for tumour cell growth," she told the paper.
As a result, she teaches home cooks to make the most of fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid mass-produced foods, as this will help protect against cancer.
"I want to empower people to do it themselves and I hope all my recipes are easy enough to do at home in under an hour," Ms Middelmann-Whitney added.
Editor of Food Mood Magazine Peter Grove recently suggested that meat eating is becoming more prominent as people realise the nutritional value of the produce.
