Landscape gardener turns his hand to home cooking

Home cooking has become something of a hobby for landscape gardener Kevin Chapman, after a trip to his local Waitrose store proved enlightening.

The 56-year-old went in search of cake mix, reports getreading.co.uk, only to be told by a supermarket worker just how simple it would be to make the recipe from scratch.

Mr Chapman then took the advice and tried out a recipe in his home kitchen, only to find how much he enjoyed creating new products.

As a result, he now makes his own jams, chutneys and even breads thanks to the help of staff at Waitrose.

He said that the ladies at the store had been great, firstly through helping him find the right ingredients and then the recipes he needed to be a successful home cook.

Discountcoder.com recently said that people need to keep an eye on how much food they make when cooking at home, as it can be all too easy to eat more than is necessary.
