Kids' get involved with festive recipes

In a bid to turn them into home cooks, a number of youngsters in Headington have been learning some festive recipes, it has been reported.

The Kid's Kitchen cookery school is held every Sunday, the Oxford Mail reports, although the latest class had a particularly Christmassy theme.

Youngsters aged between four and 12 came together to try their hand at making Christmas cake in the Black Boy pub, the news provider revealed.

Abi Rose, who co-owns the pub, commented: "We have already made Christmas puddings, and the children loved that, so we thought we'd try cake as well."

The youngsters were able to take their creations away with them, she explained, while parents relaxed in the pub as their children made use of the cookware.

In recent days, the Oxfam store on South Street, Exeter, called for people to submit their favourite recipes for inclusion in a new cook book set to be released next year.
