Britain's curry houses will continue to 'strengthen'

The curry houses of Britain are set to strengthen, despite suffering in the economic downturn, an expert says.

This is because employees at curry houses have become more creative, while showing a strong resilience by working additional hours to please their customers, according to a food journalist.

Founder of National Curry Week and food journalist Peter Grove said: "Every indication is that the industry is going to continue going from strength to strength. The main thing is to get out there and enjoy it."

Meanwhile, National Curry Week began on November 21st and will see a selection of events across the country, which are organised to celebrate the dish.

The events will take place throughout Britain's restaurants, cafeterias, schools and universities, where people can enjoy poppadom towers as well as celebratory football matches.

National Curry Week will also be contributing towards the Curry Tree Charitable Fund, which offers aid to underprivileged individuals across the world.
