Jamie Oliver's food shop due for reopening

A Rotherham food store opened by TV chef Jamie Oliver is set to reopen today after it battled the threat of closure.

Rotherham's Ministry of Food shop was propelled into the limelight on Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food TV show in 2008 and now it has been re-launched as a social enterprise.

A takeaway meal of the day will be available during lunch to commemorate the shop's overhaul, which is set to provide additional investment for the local area and allow residents to learn to cook.

Manager Lisa Taylor said: "Our priorities continue to be helping Rotherham people to improve their eating habits, and to learn more about cooking healthy food."

Last week, Jamie Oliver expressed his worries over new government cuts and how they could affect healthy eating habits throughout England.

He said to the Guardian: "They're all looking at me now for money, and the thing is I don't have it."
