Eating habits need to be monitored

It is paramount that eating habits are consistently monitored, as the ideal diet integrates fat free food alongside meat, fruit, vegetables and a sustained schedule of exercise.

How these food types are consumed is completely dictated by the individual but it is possible to live healthily through eating together with friends or by showing the initiative to cook for yourself.

Importantly, consumers need to ensure that they complete their five-a-day intake of fruit, whether it is accomplished via solid fruits or fruit juice is irrelevant but people need to be wary of what fruit drinks qualify as part of their "five-a-day".

For instance, some carbonated fruit-flavoured soft drinks such as Tango and Fanta will not be eligible as a piece of fruit consumption, whereas other brands such as Innocent Smoothies contain enough to be considered equivalent to one of your five-a-day.

Fruits are generally high in vitamin C, fibre and water, and regular fruit consumption has been recognised as a method of reducing risks of cancer.
