Kids 'learning the art of using cookware'
One school is doing all it can to get kids acquainted with how to use cookware from an early age, it has emerged.
Three days a week, children turn up to the Young Chefs Academy where they learn cooking basics that they can use later in life, app.com reports.
They are given the opportunity to use a range of different recipes, the article explained, including everything from root beer to biscuits, which will give them the confidence to indulge in some home baking.
Many of the youngsters benefit from learning alongside others, as they work in groups to create certain dishes.
Academy owner Lyle Stone told the website that "so much of eating is manners and socialisation", adding that parents are sometimes allowed to join in with the classes.
Top chef Jamie Oliver is currently hosting a TV show entitled Jamie's American Food Revolution, on which he is trying to encourage schools in the US to improve the nutritional value of meals served to children.
